DYNAMICS OF CHANGES IN SOME ECONOMIC SEGMENTS

Oil market

The week stated with considerable drop in oil prices. On 10 July the prices of oil futures dropped to the lowest point of the week. Results of trading sessions at exchanges for nearest futures contracts were as follows:

- at New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) official futures prices of Light, Sweet Crude Oil (July) dropped 48 cents (-0.6%) and was set at the point of $73.61 per barrel at the price of ranging from $72.90-$73.95 per barrel;

- at London-based InterContinental Exchange Futures (IРЎE Futures) official price of IPE e-Brent Crude Futures Electronic (July) dropped 62 cents (- 0.8%) and got fixed at $72.89 per barrel at prices ranging from $72.11 to $73.26 per barrel.

Currency market

As a result of the last week official rate of manat in regard to US dollar, set by the National Bank of Azerbaijan grew 0,0009 point or 0.09%. Average rate was established as 0.89478 manats per 1 US dollar, Trend reports.

Last week maximum rate of US dollar in respect to manat was established on 3 July (0.8953 manats per 1 US dollar), minimum 7 July (0.8941 manats per US dollar)

As of results of the last week exchange rates of Azerbaijani manat in regard to US dollar, established on the base of results of the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BICEX) increased by 0,0012 point or 0.12%. Average rate was fixed as 0.89392 manats per US dollar.

Last week maximum rate of US dollar in respect to manat was established on 3 and 4 July (0.8943 manats per 1 US dollar), minimum 7 July (0.8931 manats per US dollar).

Deals concluded last week at BEST with transition to currency (T+0) comprised $1m with average sustained exchange rate of 8943m AZN/USD on 3 July, no deal - on 4 July, $5.73m with average sustained rate of 0,8940 AZN/USD on 5 July, $1m with average sustained rate of 0,8939 AZN/USD on 6 July and $2.2m with the rate of 0,8931 AZN/USD on 7 July.

No deal was concluded with Russian ruble and euros last week due to absence of appeals.

Privatization shares market

In this period prices of vouchers were stable and comprised 75,000 old manats (15 AZN).
