Leut.-Gen. The number of premeditated murders remains stable - 70 facts in total. The number of facts of blackmail through threats increased on 4 ones.
According to the Chief of the Baku Central Police Department, as a result of preventive and operative measures, totally 465 units of fire-guns were seized, including 24 automats, 145 pistols, 11 grenade cup discharge, 185 carabines and rifles. In addition, 163 grenades and more than 19.000 cartridges were seized by the Procurement Department of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry. In the reporting period, totally 8276 crimes were registered in Baku City, including 879 serious and particularly grave crimes. However, as compare with 2005, the increase in these crimes reached 13,9% and 16,7% correspondingly. In the structure of the criminality, grave crimes reached 49,3%, 40,1% - crimes representing no public threat, and only 10,6% - serious and particularly grave crimes, concluded Mr. Aliyev.
