Azerbaijan and Georgia Agreed up on One of Sections of State Borders

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend A.Ismaylova / On 7 March the Joint Azerbaijani-Georgian Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of Borders agreed up on one out of 13 remaining sections. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov, said that the section is located in the territory of Agstafa district of Azerbaijan. A protocol was signed as a result. Khalafov stressed that up to now, nearly 65% of the borders have been agreed between the two countries. "Today, a small, but very significant section was agreed on," Khalafov said.

As a result of today's meeting, a decision was made to continue the work at the level of experts. Until June, expert negotiations will be held over the remaining sections and thereafter, the next meeting will take place in Tbilisi. Touching up on the territory of David Garedji Complex, the Deputy Foreign Minister said that is needs to once again send the experts to this territory.

According to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, Georgi Manjgaldze, today's negotiations were constructive and the future co-operation steps were defined.
