Azerbaijan’s First Vice Prime Minister Visiting Moscow

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The First Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyyubov, is representing Azerbaijan at the 33rd meeting of the CIS Economic Council which takes place on 30 March in Moscow.

According to the information provided by the CIS Executive Committee, the agenda of the meeting includes more than 20 issues. Priority at the meeting will be given to the improvement of standard legal base of free trade zone. Discussions will be held over the results of the special meeting of experts of CIS countries regarding free trade zones which took place in February 2007.

Issues include agreement on harmonization of customs procedures during transference of the electricity via the customs of participating countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS); Agreement on amendments and annexes to the list of conditions, production and technological operations; and Agreement on co-operation in formation and exchange of the information resources and in creation and development of the information system of the CIS countries with regards to the peaceful use of the atomic energy. The Economic Council will adopt a significant document, Complex of Joint Measures of CIS countries in the Prevention of Bird Flu in CIS countries.

In addition, members of the Council will exchange views on the problems with the inflation of 2007, the CIS budget and other financial issues, including financial support for activities of the CIS Inter-State Fund for Humanitarian Co-operation. The documents adopted at the meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be presented to the consideration of the CIS Council Government Heads and CIS Council of State Heads. Within participation at the meeting, the First Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan will hold a number of meetings with the heads of the delegations of the CIS countries.
