President Expressed Deep Condolences to Azerbaijan’s Jewish Community

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. I. Alizadeh/ Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, has expressed his deep condolences to the Jewish community of the country on the occasion of the genocide, which was committed against the Jews during World War II, Trend reports referring to National AzTV Channel.

In his letter, addressed to the World's Jews, the Head of the Azerbaijan State says that as a result of this terrible crime against the entire humanity, millions of innocent people were killed, including old men and women, children, and little babies, by adding that the executors committed their crimes with an unprecedented brutality.

"In April, 1943, in Warsaw, Jewish prisoners of the Warsaw Ghetto rose a rebellion against fascism, against ethnical and religious division between the people, and gave up their lives in an unequal fight for their national self-consciousness and human's dignity. This event, which was stamped in the history as the day of misfortune and heroism of the Jewish people, marks by the international community with deep respect. The entire World honours this day with bitterness in the heart," says the letter.

The Azerbaijani President also noted that over the last two centuries, the Azerbaijani people themselves have suffered such terrible tragedies like a genocide, deportation, and ethnical clearance.
