Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend Z.Safarov / Azerbaijani Democratic Reform Party positively assesses the Amnesty Act adopted by the Parliament of Azerbaijan on 1 May. The party considers that the Amnesty Act which covers a large number of prisoners, as well as the Presidential decree on the pardon of persons who have committed crimes, are notable steps towards human rights. "We would like very much that such humanistic steps cover a large category of the prisoners. We believe that the arrested media representatives who are not affected by this Act will be released by other relevant decrees," mentioned a statement of the party.
