Underage Crimes Reduced by 31%
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr E.Huseynli/ Oruj Zalov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Interior Minister, reported that the rate of crimes committed by underage juveniles in Azerbaijan has decreased by 31% this year as compared to last year.
Zalov stated that underage crimes made up 1,100 in average during the previous years but this had now decreased by 500.
Zalov explained the drop in the number of crimes committed by underage juveniles with the co-ordination of joint activities by the Interior Ministry. Furthermore, several reports regarding child trafficking was registered this year. With regards to the exploitation of underage children, every year 500-600 homeless children have been sent to live with families and orphanages.
