Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Huseynli / The visit program of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Rene van der Linden, to Azerbaijan has been publicized. According to Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), the visit will begin in the evening of 7 July. On 9 July, Linden will begin official meetings.
PACE Chairman will hold meetings in Milli Majlis. Later he will meet with the Prime-Minister, Foreign Minister, and heads of religious communities functioning in the country. A press conference on the results of Linden's visit to Azerbaijan will be held at the end of the day.
Before his visit to Azerbaijan the Chairman of the PACE visited Armenia on 4-5 July and Georgia on 5-7 July.
On the threshold of the visit to South Caucasus Linden stated that the CE was giving high profile to the region. "During my second visit to South Caucasus it will be possible to have discussions on settlement of lingered conflicts in the countries of the region," he said.
