Criminal Case on Collapse of Neapol Resort Centre in Baku to be Considered

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The criminal case due to collapse of the Neapol resort centre in Baku was passed for consideration. Tofik Agajanov, the assistant of Absheron region Prosecutor Office, said to the Trend Agency on 30 October.

The incident happened on 14 August.

The workers, Rafik Mammadov 43, and Rauf Abdullayev 43, remained under the collapsed building. However, Rasim Mammadov, Vusal Aliyev and Vadim Bayramov got injured.

A criminal case has been filed with contravening Article 222.2(violation security rules causing death) of the Criminal Code in Absheron region Prosecutor Office of Azerbaijan.

The conducted investigation revealed that Shukur Ahmadov, the contractor, get permission to construct the two-storeyed trade centre by order of the Executive Power of Absheron region on 29 March 2007. However, Ahmadov violated requirements of the legislation. Ahmadov did not consider the project with the Central State Expertise Department at the State Agency of for Security Control Agency commenced construction of the resort centre.

Shukur Ahmadov and Shamil Aliyev are charged of the Article 222.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
