Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / The trial on the appeal of the head of the Public Union for Return to West Azerbaijan Rizvan Talibov was suspended. He will appeal to the Supreme Court against the preliminary hearing which took place in the Appeal Court. Talibov's attorney petitioned to suspend the trial.
Talibov was sentenced to 4-year prison term on hooliganism charges. A criminal case for Rizvan Talibov, the Director of the Committee on Protection of Rights of the Azerbaijani Ex-Minister of Health Ali Insanov and the Chairman of the Public Union for Return to West Azerbaijan, was filed on the basis of the appeal of his neighbour.
It was decided at the preliminary hearing to eliminate court investigation, Talibov's attorney Mushvig Shirinov said. The attorney petitioned to invite more witnessed to court and to launch an expertise.
Talibov is being kept in Investigation Cell 3 in Shuvalan settlement. In a recent statement to the press, Talibov included himself in the list of jailed journalists.
