Azerbaijan, Baku, Sheki, 18 March /corr. Trend E.Guliyev / Uncle of Azerbaijani soldier, who was taken prisoner by the Armenians, went on a hunger strike. Soldier Yagub Mukhtarov's uncle Allahverdi Mukhtarov went on a hunger strike in Martyr's Avenue in Azerbaijan's district of Sheki.
Azerbaijani Soldier Yagub Mukhtarov, born on 29 April 1988 in Sheki, was taken as a prisoner in Tovuz direction on 9 March.
Allahverdi Mukhtarov protests against the indifferent attitude of Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry and Ombudsman towards destiny of his nephew, and wants them to take necessary measures for his release.
Several days ago, Azerbaijan's Ombudsman, Elmira Suleymanova, appealed to the Baku representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross and asked them to render assistance in getting the soldier released from the captivity.
