New Trainer Appointed in Azerbaijan’s  National Rhythmic Gymnastics

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November / Trend /The Bulgarian specialist Mariana Vasiliyeva, 35, was appointed as the trainer in Azerbaijan's national rhythmic gymnastics. This decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Gymnastics Committee of Azerbaijan.

Before, Vasiliyeva worked with Azerbaijani group team and reached good results. The team succeeded to the Beijing Olympic Games and Euro-2008 in Turin under Vasiliyeva's training.

Representing the new trainer, the Vice President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Altai Hasanov said expressed a hope that 'the changes in the team will arrange new ideas and achievements".

In the interview to AGF Vasiliyeva said that she was very proud of being the trainer of Azerbaijan's national rhythmic gymnastics team. "I understand the responsibility and will try to meet expectations," Vasiliyeva said.

Dinara Gimatova, the Azerbaijani gymnast, will be the assistant of Vasiliyeva. "Other local gymnasts will also be mine assistants. The team will train in the Olympic Sport Complex, where all the necessary conditions have been created for the team to train," the new appointed trainer said.

The principal position of the new trainer is to select only specialists to the team. "The interest of the country should dominate over individuals' interest and it is my professional credo," Vasiliyeva added.

Under the decision of the Executive Committee attached to the Federation, a Commission was established on technical issues. The Commission unites the General Secretary of Federation Farid Gaibov, Director of the Gymnastics School in Baku Arif Gafarov, former rhythmic gymnastics trainer Valentina Ukleina, sport gymnastics trainer Rza Aliyev, and an acrobatic gymnastics trainer Irada Gurbanova.
