Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 November / Trend corr. J.Babayeva/ The Azerbaijan National Television & Radio Council (NTRC) warned Avropa-Plus Baki radio station next time because of airing programs in foreign languages.
"If leadership of the radio does not correct its mistake after the next warning, Avropa-Plus Baki radio station will be closed in Azerbaijan," Nushiravan Maharramli, the chairman of the NTRC, told Trend on 18 November.
The NTRC banned airing movies and programs in foreign languages at TV and radios in Azerbaijan on 1 January in 2008. Avropa-Plus Baki radio station airs programs and news in the Russian language.
Music can be aired in foreign languages at radio stations, whilst news and programs must be aired in the Azerbaijani language, the NTRC said. The radio station got a license for its activity as a local radio
The NTRC gave a six-year broadcast license to Avropa-Plus Baki radio station on 6 December in 206.
The NTRC warned the radio station on this matter earlier, as well.
