The South Korean news agency Yonpar and Trend signed a partnership agreement  this week. The agreement was reached during a regular meeting of the Organization of News Agencies of Asia and the Pacific Ocean in Tehran.

The document envisions sharing information on political, economic, social and cultural and humanitarian aspects of life in the two countries. The parties also plan to exchange photos and other information, which are of interest to South Korean, Azerbaijani and overseas users. 

The memorandum also foresees providing aid to each other's correspondents while implementing their professional duties in the respective countries.

Founded in 1995 as a private media outlet, Trend Agency is a leading news provider in the Caucasus and Caspian region. Trend produces roughly 500 articles per day in five languages, including English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic.

Trend offers clients high-quality multimedia materials, analytical feature articles highlighting major political and economic developments and financial articles from top agency experts. Trend was named the "Best Mass Media Company" in Azerbaijan in 2006-2007.The Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio recognized Trend as the most "Dynamically Developing Resource in Eurasia" in 2008.

Launched in 1981 after a merger of several commercial news agencies, Yonhap keeps clients abreast of the latest news and information by disseminating fast and reliable reports.

Yonhap has 550 journalists and photographers at its Seoul head office, regional offices and overseas bureaus.
