Azerbaijan's Press Council will conduct the event dedicated to the 20 January tragedy.

The round table on 'The 20 January tragedy observed by witnesses-journalists' will be held on Jan. 19," Azerbaijan's Press Council told Trend today. 

About 4,000 media outlets have been registered in Azerbaijan. At present, only 600 of them operate. About 400 newspapers and magazines are published. Eight republican TV channels, 14 regional TV and 13 cable televisions channels operate. There are approximately 50 e-media outlets, about 20 news agencies and internet resources in Azerbaijan.

Members of Azerbaijan's Press Council's board and journalists plan to visit Alley of Martyrs this day. "The views on various aspects of the 20 January tragedy will be exchanged at the meeting. The processes that preceded it and followed, the impact on journalists, reasons of this tragic event, especially its media coverage at this stage will be discussed," the report said.

The journalists who witnessed the tragedy of 20 January, heads of media outlets and public representatives are expected to visit the event.
