A group of Azerbaijani gymnasts themselves made a gift to the Women's Day. The team took the third place in one of the finales during the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary.

Namely, Ceyla Guliyeva, Stephanie Trajanova, Anastasia Prasolova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Jamila Huseynova and Nigar Mirzoyeva got the bronze medals after the final performance with the two ropes and three ribbons. Russia and Belarus took the first two places, the Azerbaijani Gymnastics Federation said.

"We participated in another final with five hoops, Azerbaijani head coach Mariana Vassilyeva said. Girls put their soul, all their skill in this exercise. But in the end we took the fourth place. However, I am very satisfied with the results because it was the first season of World Cup!," she said.

Aliya Garayeva and Anna Gurbanova participated in the individual finals of individual competitions. Garayeva demonstrated the best result and ranked the fourth place in the exercise with a rope. Alia took the fifth place with a hoop and ribbon and the seventh place with the ball. Gurbanova took the fifth place (rope), the sixth one (ball), the eighth one (tape) and the ninth one (hoop). Russian gymnast Eugenia Kanayeva won in all four types.

Lala Yusifova has the highest rate in the finals of the international tournament among junior gymnasts. Prospective 14-year-old gymnast from Baku took the fifth place in two exercises - with a rope and a hoop. Jala Garatova got a pass in one final - with a rope, where she took the sixth place.

Azerbaijani gymnast participated in another international tournament. Samira Mustafayeva took the sixth place among 22 participating countries in all-round competition in a tournament in Ljubljana.

According to head coach, gymnasts will go Portuguese town of Portimao ater Hungary. The World Cup lap and the international junior tournament will be held there on March 11-14. Besides gymnasts participated in Debrecen, in the coastal town, washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, there will be two other juniors - Aisha Mustafayeva and Ekaterina Prokopenko," Vassileva said.

A qualifying tournament 'Alina 2010' for the festival of rhythmic gymnastics dedicated to Children's Day will be held in Moscow on March 13. Azerbaijan will be represented by two teams at this forum.
