The Azerbaijani Ministry of Education suspended the license of the Baku branch of Moscow State Open University, the Ministry of Education said.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Education suspended the license of the Baku branch of Moscow State Open University, the Ministry of Education said.

Baku branch of the university received a license from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice in 1996. In 2007 the branch got a special license.

Due to the fact that the school year is not completed, the license is suspended from September 1, 2010 for student to pass exams.

Heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of Education are instructed to prepare proposals for further education of students.

Students of the Baku branch of Moscow State Open University can be transferred to private colleges, Education Minister Misir Mardanov said.

"After reviewing the matter with relevant agencies, the government can decide to transfer the students of the Baku branch of Moscow State Open University to private colleges," minister  told media.

He said that graduates' diplomas will be recognized, if they are legitimate.

Baku branch of the university received a license from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice in 1996. In 2007 the branch got a special license. The branch was opened on the basis of the Azerbaijani-Russian intergovernmental agreement. Later, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education decided to close the branch.
