Azerbaijan starts 'Month of children' rights'

The ombudsman has already sent a letter to the appropriate structures in connection with the activities under the 'Month of children' rights'.

Azerbaijan has launched a month of children' rights.

The main purpose of the Month is to draw the attention of the government agencies, NGOs and influential international organizations to protection of children's rights, including rights related to education and health, safeguarding them from social problems, and children' labor, identification and address of the problems of children coming from families of refugees and IDPs, children deprived of parental care and that need special care, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman Apparatus reported.

It is expected to hold roundtables in the country's regions with the support of the executive powers and Ombudsman Apparatus, as well as the Ganja, Guba, Sheki and Jalilabad regional centers of the Ombudsman Apparatus. During the month, there will be held training seminars, activities and exhibitions on children's rights at secondary schools and higher educational institutions with the support of the Education Ministry.

The ombudsman has already sent a letter to the appropriate structures in connection with the activities under the 'Month of children' rights'.

The proposals developed upon the results of the analysis conducted during the Month will be sent to the relevant authorities.
The month will end on Nov.20.
