Water content of rivers increased in Azerbaijan

The water content of mountain rivers has increased due to high temperature and ice melt in lower mountainous areas in Azerbaijan in recent days, the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry said.

The water content of mountain rivers has increased due to high temperature and ice melt in lower mountainous areas in Azerbaijan in recent days, the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry said.
At present, the water content in the rivers in Balaken-Sheki, Lankaran-Astara regions is twice more than the ten-day norm, while in the rivers of the Lesser Caucasus - 90-135 percent of the ten-day norm.
In the Surra point of the Kur River, water level now hits 640 cm, in Shirvan - 556 cm, in Salyan - 480 cm and in the Banka settlement - 341 cm. In the Novruzlu point of the Araz River, water level hits 353 cm.
