Azerbaijan, Baku, November 29 / Trend, M. Aliyev /

The issue of removal of snipers from the frontline was examined at trilateral meeting of Sheik-ul-Islam haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Division (CMD), Cyril, the Patriarch of Moscow and the whole Russia, and Garegin the Second, the Catholicos of all Armenians, CMD Deputy Chairman haji Sabir Hasanli told a press conference on Tuesday.

Though the Azerbaijani territories remain occupied, such meetings are very important for conclusion of comprehensive peace, he noted.

"Religious leaders should call for peace," Hasanli said.

At a meeting with Garegin the Second, Sheik-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh suggested continuing such meetings and said a meeting among the religious figures should be held in one of the frontline regions, upon mutual consent of the sides.
Sheik-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Division (CMD), arrived in Yerevan on Monday to attend a meeting of the Presidium of the CIS Inter-Religious Council. The meeting of the Presidium was conducted on November 28-29.
On his visit, Sheik-ul-Islam visited the Friday Mosque in downtown Yerevan. This Azerbaijani mosque, built in the 18th century, serves mostly as a place of prayers of Muslims (advantageously those taking origin from South Azerbaijan) who currently reside and work in Yerevan.

Pashazadeh-led Azerbaijani team prayed at the mosque.
