Azerbaijani minister: Collaboration of CIS youth is important part of humanitarian cooperation

Youth teamwork in the CIS countries is an important part of humanitarian cooperation, Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said at the opening ceremony of the meeting of the Youth Council of the Commonwealth countries in Baku today.
"Humanitarian cooperation plays an important stabilising role in today's world," he said. "It has a positive effect on relations between the countries, the preservation of human values, human development and creates opportunities for economic progress. Youth cooperation is an important part of the humanitarian process."
He said that the young people are interested in a quality education and employment more than other layers of the society.
"Young people are very pragmatic today. We are responsible for our young people," he added.
He added that Azerbaijan has repeatedly received participants of international and global forums and sporting competitions. "The events in the field of humanitarian cooperation and intercultural dialogue have a special place," he said.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus are attending the regular meeting of the CIS Youth Council. They are discussing the implementation of youth policy.
