A sailing world championship in the Olympic class "470" will be held in 2016 in Azerbaijan.
The decision was made by majority vote at the General Assembly of the International Association of Sailing in the Olympic class "470" held in Athens (Greece), the statement of the Sailing Federation of Azerbaijan reported Sept.8.
The representatives of the Sailing Federation of Azerbaijan together with the participants of the Assembly made a presentation within the framework of the Assembly and noted that the holding of the championship in 2016 in Baku is the right choice.
Sailing was included in the Olympic program in 1976.
