Around 50m Azerbaijanis live all over the world, Nazim Ibrahimov, the chairman of the State Committee on Azerbaijanis Living Abroad, said to journalists, Trend reports. Around 8m Azerbaijanis live in Azerbaijan, over 30m - Southern Azerbaijan, Iran, 2.5m - Russia, 1m - the USA, 500,000 -Georgia, over 400,000 - Germany, 350,000 -France. Besides, Azerbaijanis from Georgia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan live in the different parts of the world.
Despite the number of Azerbaijanis, the financial state of the Diasporas is in very low level. He mentioned lack of propaganda about Azerbaijan. According to Ibrahimov, it is impossible to meet materials, dedicated to Azerbaijan, in the world museums. The State Committee holds negotiations on establishment a Azerbaijani corner in the biggest museum of Canada.
The State Committee renders financial assistance to Azerbaijani Diasporas to organize events in the different parts of the world on the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide on 26 February.
