The Azerbaijani Health Ministry held a board meeting dedicated to preparations for the winter season in line with a decree issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Chaired by the Health Minister, Oktai Shirailyev, the gathering heard a report which noted that in 2005 a total of 210 medical institutions were provided with heat system, Trend reports.
43 medical institutions were not provided with heating system. The rest 68 medical institutions do not work and there is acute necessity for conduct of overhaul.
I visited some medical institutes in connection with the preparations for the winter season. Unfortunately, the situation is not pleasant at all, the Minister underlined.
Shiraliyev underlined the problems linked with the heat supply to these facilities, in particular, renovation of windows and doors, and demanded the head physicians of the medical enterprises to show more serious attention towards the issue not only in the winter season.
