Azerbaijan Joins Bundestag Scholarship International Programme

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Aghayeva / Starting in summer 2008 five Azerbaijani students will be annually offered the opportunity to work on probation in Bundestag. Nasimi Garayev, the Second Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Germany, informed that at the initiative of the Embassy Azerbaijan has been included into the Bundestag Scholarship International Programme implemented by the German Bundestag. A delegation from Bundestag is to visit Baku in December, 2007 in order to select the scholars.

According to the diplomat as a result of the interview five Azerbaijani citizens with higher education degree and good command of German are to take part in the Programme starting 1 March, 2008. The probationers are to stay in Germany for 5 months. During 3 months they are to work on probation by the Bundestag MPs and to participate in various seminars and trainings at the German Universities afterwards. All the charges are to be on Bundestag responsibility.

The details of the participation of Azerbaijan in the Programme were discussed during the meeting of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov with MP Volfgang Bernsen, the coordinator of the Programme. According to Aghayev all the persons interested can apply the German Embassy to Azerbaijan.
