Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The Investigating Office of Investigation Department of Yasamal District Police Department, Rafig Aliyev, said on 25 April that the Department Chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper, Uzeyir Jafarov, has taken a medical examination.
According to Aliyev, the results of the court medical examination have not been announced as yet. A criminal case was filed in compliance with article 132 (beating) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Jafarov stated that the three injuries inflicted on him are serious. In the second half of the day, he will provide evidence to the Investigating officer.
Jafarov was beaten by several unknown assailants on 20 April whilst leaving the newspaper editorial office. He was hospitalized at the Medical Clinic Center.
