During the first six months of this year, compared with the same period last year, agricultural production increased by 13 percent, including growth in crop production by 25.6 percent and animal breeding by 2.9 percent, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov said at a republican meeting “Cocoon 2020: Upcoming tasks” held in Zardab district, Trend reports.
The minister noted that this season of cocoon procurement was marked by positive indicators.
“It is very pleasing that, just like all areas of the agriculture sector, development is also observed in sericulture,” he added. “This year, 641 tons of mulberry cocoon were procured, which is an increase of 25 percent.”
