BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. The total assets of Azerbaijani banks exceeded 42.404 billion manat ($24.9 billion), total liabilities – 37.138 billion manat ($21.8 billion), and balance sheet capital – 5.266 billion manat ($3.09 billion) as of September 1, 2022, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan told Trend.
As compared to July 2022, the assets, liabilities, and balance sheet capital of the banking sector increased by two percent, 1.9 percent, and 2.5 percent, respectively.
The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks rose above 18.638 billion manat ($10.9 billion), growing by 0.8 percent in August 2022 (151.2 million manat, or $88.8 million) compared to last month.
In the reporting period, the deposit portfolio prevailed the liability structure of Azerbaijani banks (82 percent of the overall liabilities). The deposit portfolio of banks in August 2022 edged up by 2.8 percent in August 2022 (836.7 million manat, or $491.47 million).
