BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The total assets of banks in Azerbaijan as of November 1, 2022, exceeded 44.6 billion manat ($26.2 billion), while total liabilities accounted for 39.23 billion manat ($23 billion), and equity totaled 5.43 billion manat ($3.1 billion), Azerbaijan's Central Bank (CBA) told Trend.

In October, assets and liabilities as well as equity increased by 2.4 and 2.5 percent, respectively, compared to the previous month.

According to the CBA, the loan portfolio of Azerbaijan's banks in October 2022 increased by 1.6 percent (313.6 million manat - $184 million), compared to the previous year, and totaled more than 19.47 million manat ($11.4 million).

"During the accounting period, the loan portfolio increased by 16.9 percent or 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion). A total of 10.3 percent, or 1.12 billion manat ($660 million) of loans were issued to business entities and funds," said the CBA.
