Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Russia keeps prohibition on import of Polish meat due to political reasons, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, the Polish Agriculture Minster, said currently visiting Baku, Azerbaijan. Ardanowski will take part in the Polish national exhibition.
Russian Agriculture Ministry imposed temporarily prohibition on import of beef, beef by-products, pig, pig by-products, poultry and semi-finished products from Poland to Russia due to violation of veterinary laws. The prohibition was imposed on 10 November 2005.
The prohibition imposed on meat import from Poland does not negatively affect on development of economy in Russia. Totally 40,000 of different Polish commodities are imported to Russia.
"We do not depend on Russia in this issue. We have already found other markets for our goods, including Germany, Japan and China," Ardanowski said.
