Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / In October, the prices for foodstuffs increased by 2.9% and non-foods by 0.6% as compared to September, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.
In foodstuffs market the prices were up for bread, rice, wheat flour, buckwheat, semolina, pasta and confectionery, vegetable oil and butter, dairy products, alcoholic drinks, lemons, oranges, carrots, beetroots, garlic, potatoes, sugar, beef, mutton, sturgeon and beluga.
In October, the prices were down for fruits - apples, pomegranates, persimmons, nuts and chestnuts, pumpkins.
In non-foods market prices increased for warm clothes and footwear.
In construction materials market prices grew for paints, cement, parquet lacquer, bricks, and wood products.
Prices also increased for repair of household appliances.
