Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / Azerbaijan will sell to Georgia the amount of flour the country requested in line with prices in the world market, the Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov said on 20 November.

"Ten thousand tons of flour, which Georgia requested, is not a large amount for Azerbaijan," the Minister said.

In October, the Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli stated that Georgia was negotiating with Azerbaijan on the purchase of flour.

According to Abbasov, Georgia's request is not regular and it was caused by a decrease in its own reserves.

" Georgia applied for flour to private Azerbaijani companies, but I cannot release their names. State companies do not deal with the sale of flour," Abbasov said.

Georgia is also negotiating with Ukraine and Kazakhstan for flour and wheat supply.
