WB Keep on Consultations with Azerbaijan on Housing and Communal Reforms

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / World Bank is ready to back the program on processing of housing and communal sector of Azerbaijan, stated WB Vice-president on Central Asia and Europe Shigeo Katsu.

"Communal reform is one of the issues which is interested banks. We have been working over the issue with Azerbaijan for years," the vice-president said.

Improvement of communal services and structures, as well as social development is one of the relevant issues of financing. The vice-president stated about necessity to create conditions for poor population to be provided with communal services.

"There is necessity to create trustful tariff structure, as well as to settle the issue concerning collection of payments for used services, Katsu said.

Azerbaijan holds work over restoration of structures both at the expense of foreign and local funds. Improvement of water supply and sewerage systems is being implemented within the framework of different projects. Heating and gas supply systems have been under the state property
