Growth Rate of GDP Decreases in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Azerbaijan increased by 25.4% in January to November as compared to similar period of 2006, the Azerbaijani State Committee on Statistic said. At current prices GDP made up AZN 20.818mln as of 1 December. The GDP volume comprised AZN 2,461.7 per capita, with an increase of 24%.

The share of production in GDP of the country grew by 31.2% as compared to similar period of 2006 and comprised 71.9% (AZN 14.967.3mln). The value added cost in service sphere increased by 11.7% as compared to 2006 to AZN 4.191.2mln and specific weight in GDP decreased from 22% in 2006 to 20.1% in 2007.

Net tax from production and import comprised 8% in GDP.

Nearly AZN 12.491.4mln worth of GDP was produced in industry in this period, comprising 60% of the total GDP, AZN 1.070.9mln of the value added cost was produced in hunting sector and arboriculture, AZN 1.405mln in the construction sector (6.7%), AZN 1.010.4mln (4.9%) in transport, AZN 355.8mln (1.7%) in communications, AZN 1.175.5mln (5.6%) in wholesale and retail trade, automobile sphere, household wares and services on repairing of objects of personal use, AZN 166.6mln (0.8%) in restaurants and hotel sector, AZN 1.482.9mln (7.1%) in social services.
