Mitsubishi extends Outlander range

( dpa )- The Japanese car maker Mitsubishi is extending the range of the Outlander SUV to offer the vehicle on the European market in a petrol and a second diesel version.

The petrol- engined version stems from the cooperation between Hyundai and the Chrysler group and is powered by a 2.4-litre 125 kW/170 hp engine.

The top speed is listed at 190 kilometres an hour. Fuel consumption is an average of 9.3 litres with a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emission figure of 222 g/km.

An alternative to the 103 kW/140 hp diesel built in cooperation with Peugeot and Citroen is a version with more extras and powered by a 2.2-litre 115 kW/156 hp Common Rail diesel. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is in 9.9 seconds and top speed listed at 200 km/h. The consumption figure of 7.3 litres translates to a C02 emission figure of 194 g/km.
