Average Salary Exceeds Average Income Per Capita in Azerbaijan by 50%

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported that the rate of the average monthly salary was AZN 214 in Azerbaijan in 2007, which is 42% more compared to the same period in 2006. The highest salaries were seen in the extractive industry, the financial sector, operations regarding property issues, rental and consumer services, as well as in the construction sector.

During this period the average salary exceeded the average monthly income per capita by 51.9%.

The nominal per capita income of the public totaled AZN 1.690.3mln in January-October, which is 38.6% more compared to the same period in 2006. The real per capita income of the public for this period made up AZN 1.519.6mln which is an increase of 40.3%.

The nominal income of the public totaled AZN 14.305.6mln in 2007, which is 40.3% more compared to the same period in 2006. The real income of the public for this period made up AZN 12.860.7mln which is an increase of 42%.

The public spent 65.5% of its private income on goods and services in 2007, 10.1% on social insurance and obligatory membership fees, and 24.4% on accumulation and increase of capital.
