( dpa ) - Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average soared in early trading Wednesday on the Tokyo stock market, following the US central bank's steep cut in interest rates.
At 9:12 am, the index was up 422.59 points, or 3.36 per cent, to 12,995.64. The Nikkei lost 4.41 per cent on Tuesday.
