In January Azerbaijan increased commodity export by 8.87 percent or $55.49 million compared to the same period of 2008, State Statistics Committee said. In total, export amounted to 681.49 million.
Commodity import increased 4.63 percent or $22.94 million to $518.77 million.
During this period, Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with 92 foreign countries. The country exported 492 types of products and imported 2,720 types.
In general, trade turnover of the country in January totaled $1.20 billion.
