Turkmenistan plans to gather all wheat crops in mid. of July

Vice-Prime Minister Muratgeldi Akmammadov said at the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that hard work at harvest-time is conducted in accordance with schedule. This work is planned to be completed by July 15.  

It was wording to comments of the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, official Turkmen sources said. Berdymukhamedov said in mid. of June that all crops must be gathered without losses.

Fixed plan hits 1.6 million tons in 2009. Roughly 1 million tons were gathered in 2008. Sown areas hit more than 900,000 hectares. Central Asian country fully depended on grain import in Soviet period. Over 70,000 tons were gathered in local terms.
