The reconstruction of the remaining section of the Baku-Guba-Border Road heading to Russia will begin in 2010, the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry reportd yesterday.
"Construction work will be launched in 2010," a ministry source said.
He added that the remaining section of the four-lane road will be concrete.
The Baku-Guba-Border Road was put into operation in September 2009. Reconstruction started in May last year. Concrete pavement with a thickness of 28-30 centimeters has been laid along 118 kilometers. The project's contractor was the Akkord Company.
Communications infrastructure has been rebuilt under the project. Twenty bridges have also been built, as well as three overpasses.
