Iran, Malaysia ink MOU on human resource development

Iran and Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding in Tehran on Sunday to cooperate on training manpower and exchanging related expertise.

Iranian Labor Minster Abdolreza Sheikholeslami and Malaysian Human Resource Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam inked the MOU, IRNA news agency reported.

The two sides have agreed to expand relations in the regional job market, launch joint human resource development programs, and exchange information and technical expertise on training manpower.

The MOU stipulates for setting up joint sessions for experts from the two sides, holding exhibitions, investing to establish technical training centers, and taking part in conferences to promote cooperation in the related fields.

Diplomatic relations between Iran and Malaysia are brotherly and cooperative, with Iran having its Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia having its Embassy in Tehran. The two countries are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the developing 8 (D8) nations. 

The Economic trade between Iran and Malaysia is quite sturdy as well, amounting to $1.43 billion as of 2008.

In June 2009, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Dato'' Haji Muhyiddin Yassin said that "Iran and Malaysia have extensive potential for cooperation and they should try to use all the capacities available in the best possible manner through proper planning.
