Increase of the state due for a license for labor migrants activity led to their legalization by 1.4 times compared to 2008, Labor and Social Protection Minister Fizuli Alekperov said

"In 2009, foreign citizens transferred over 4.5 million manat in the state budget to obtain a license for labor activity," Alekperov said

According to Alekperov, employers think about attracting local workforce before inviting foreign citizens due to the significant increase of the state tariffs (over 22 times)

At present, 5,784 people from 80 countries carry out labor activity on the basis of the individual license which is higher 1.4 times than the figure in 2008. The number of prolonged individual licenses increased 3.4 times

According to the amendments in the law on the "State tariffs" dated Feb. 12, 2009 the state duty ratio for labor migrants increased over 22 times to 1,000 manat ($1,240). The foreigners should pay 45 manat to obtain a license and 25 manat to prolong the license
