It will be possible to establish a joint Azerbaijani-Korean company to produce cars only after conducting research on local and regional markets, South Korea's Minister of Land, Transport and Water Chung Jong-hwan said in Baku today.
"First, it is necessary to conduct research and explore the market to establish this industrial enterprise," Chung Jong-hwan said.
According to him, the creation of such a production can envisage implementation of finished products to neighboring countries, not limited to Azerbaijan market.
If study of Azerbaijani and neighboring countries' markets give a positive result, the creation of such an enterprise will be possible, minister said.
Car production in Azerbaijan is implemented at Shamakha car plant. It assembles Samand cars of this brand in the country together with the Iranian company.
Nakhchivan automobile plant also intensified its activity. It produces 4,000-5,000 cars per year. It assembles Lifan cars (Chinese production).
