"High-quality garments with the logos of world famous companies, manufactured in the country, are familiar to consumers in Europe and America. They are in high demand," the report said.

In particular, the U.S. exports Turkmen jeans.

In 2020, it is envisaged to bring investments into the sector up to $2 billion. It is planned to erect new modern enterprises that would create tens of thousands of new jobs.

"The textile industry is one of the most attractive for investments in the country. The language of figures says that $300 million are foreign investments of over a billion of dollars invested in the development of this sector", a message said.

Textile Industry of Turkmenistan has recently made progress in its development. It has become a major export-oriented sectors of national economy. About 70 percent of its products are intended for export.

"This testifies about a high competitiveness of our high quality products with the trademark 'Made in Turkmenistan' on the world markets," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov addressed the participants at an international exhibition and conference "Main trends of development of Turkmen textile industry" in Ashgabat these days.

The basis of the industry are dozens of modern enterprises, equipped with modern equipment, produced by Japan and Western Europe - Rieter (Switzerland), and Truchler Shlafhorst (Germany), Marzoli (Italy), Juke (Japan).

The capacity of the processing industry is increasing. A modern cotton mill was recently put into operation in Lebap (region) with capacity of 17,700 tons of cotton yarn per year. Moreover, since the beginning of the year a number of large companies - cotton spinning mill in Dashoguz and Akhal provinces were put into operation.

"The economic benefits of the course elected by the government in this area is quite obvious. It is much more profitable to export finished products with higher added value rather than raw materials," Turkmen State News reported.

The textile industry has a high rate of growth of production at 10 percent annually for the recent years. In future, it is planned to build modern cotton processing plants in every district of the country where the most valuable crops are cultivated.

All cotton produced in the country will be completely processed in future in the country. At the same time, foreign companies not only put own orders on the enterprises of the country, but also invest their money in production.
