Over 11,100 Azerbaijani citizens employed in first six months

About 21,416 jobseekers applied the employment services of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in the first quarter. About 11,159 people were provided with suitable jobs, the Ministry Employment department head Anar Badalbeyli said.

According to the agency, about 815 people were employed for the last period.

The employment service attracted 2,310 people for professional training courses in accordance with current requirements of the labor market, of which 1,227 people will be trained in regional vocational training centers, located in Baku, Nakhchivan and Goychay.

During January-June job fairs were organized in 10 cities and districts of the republic. About 361 companies provided with 3,063 vacant jobs. About 861 people were employed. About 97 people were involved in training courses and 90 people are provided with paid public work.

About 1,888 unemployed people, including 1,020 women, 896 young people, 82 refugees and internally displaced people were employed for six months.

About 12 people with disabilities got a part-time job.

Enterprises provided students of Baku, Ganja, Lankaran and Absheron peninsula with more than 3,535 jobs within the reporting period under the motto "First career steps". About 271 students and graduates were employed.
