Azersun Holding determines date of commissioning new plant for recycling cardboard

Azersun Holding in March 2011 plans to put into operation a new plant for the recycling of cardboard, Abdulbari Gozel, head of Azersun Holding said today. Previously it was said that the plan will be put into operation in the second quarter of 2010.

Azersun Holding in March 2011 plans to put into operation a new plant for the recycling of cardboard, Abdulbari Gozel, head of Azersun Holding said today. Previously it was said that the plan will be put into operation in the second quarter of 2010.

"As a result, along with covering the country's needs in the paper, the enterprisewill play an important role in the prevention of pollution of the environment.The new plant will operate approximately from March of 2011,"  Gozel said.

Some 30 million euros will be invested in the construction of the new plant. The plant will be located on the territory of the small town, being created in Sumgayit.

The enterprise will be able to process daily 200 tons of used paper, and annually - 60,000 tons.

The potential of the enterprise on recycling of waste paper will cover the needs in the paper not only in Azerbaijan but also in Georgia, Turkmenistan and Dagestan. At the expense of 30 percent of production the country's needs in paper will be met, while 70 percent of paper will be exported to neighboring countries.

Azersun Holding LLC was established in 1992. The spheres of the Holding's activities are processing and packing of tea, vegetable oil, trade and distribution, construction, banking, insurance, production of cardboard and paper products, meat and vegetables, transport and storage of goods, etc.
