Azerbaijan,Turkey see need to intensify customs cooperation

There is a need to further develop cooperation between customs authorities of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan said at a meeting with the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee chairman Aydin Aliyev last week in Baku, the State Customs Committee said in the “Customs” newpaper.

There is a need to further develop cooperation between customs authorities of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan said at a meeting with the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee chairman Aydin Aliyev last week in Baku, the State Customs Committee said in the "Customs" newpaper.

"Our countries have great opportunities for further expansion of trade turnover. Also both countries' rapidly developing economies contribute to it. It is also necessary to further develop cooperation between the countries' customs authorities," Caglayan said.

According to Aliyev, the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey is an important factor in foreign policy and is always in the spotlight. He expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between the two countries' customs authorities, results of the exchange of experience in this field are especially positive.

Aliyev said introduction of the Turkish experience in the sphere of combating drug trafficking has positive results, and there is a need to continue this mutual cooperation in the future. He said that trade turnover between the two countries is growing every year, and will preserve a trend of growth in the future too.
