Azerbaijan prefers Kazakh grain due to its high quality, managing director for commercial issues in JSC "Food Contract Corporation" Daulet Uvashev said.
"The Azerbaijani government decided to fill the state grain stock with high quality grain. According to the inspections, only Kazakh grain corresponds to these requirements," Uvashev said.
He recalled that due to the special conditions of extreme continental climate in Kazakhstan, grain grown in the country has a high gluten content - from 20 to 30 percent.
"After conducting several tests and checks by the relevant services of Azerbaijan, they preferred Kazakh grain," Uvashev said.
According to the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture, supplies of Kazakh grain in Azerbaijan amounted to 547.800 tons in the first six months.
