The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry announced results of operations for January-July of the top ten insurance companies. About 78 percent of the total insurance charges and 81.5 percent of total payments fall to them. About 27 insurance companies operated in Azerbaijan that period and one reinsurance company.

The Az Sigorta Insurance entered the three insurance rates, relegating to Atesgah Sigorta the fourth line. The UK Standard Insurance rose to the seventh position, while the company Xalq Sigorta took the eighth place.
The volume of premiums of the ten leading insurance companies in January-July 2010 decreased by 26.42 million manat or 27.65 percent compared to the same period of 2009.
The total premiums fell by 21.64 percent (the figure was 113.02 million in January-July 2009) and payments - by 8.15 percent (29.19 million manat).
The report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance in January-July has not indicated the results of the only reinsurance company Az RE.
The official exchange rate is 0.8038 manat to $1 Aug. 19.
