Lithuania has agreed to supply wheat to Georgia. The agreement with the Lithuanian side was reached during the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri's visit to Vilnius.
An opportunity emerged to import grain also from Lithuania, Gilauri told journalists.
"The price and amount will be clarified next week when delegation Georgian Agriculture Ministry's delegation will arrive in Lithuania. But the main thing is that a political decision on this matter has been already made. We have already opened the Ukrainian market and, consequently, we will not face wheat deficit," Gilauri said.
Ukraine has expressed its willingness to supply 150,000 tons of wheat at a price of $300 per ton to Georgia.
